Whenever a weaker person faces misery by a wrong & mightier person, the weaker just hopes on GOD and says 'The wrong doer will be punished for his wrong-karmas in next birth'. All I can infer from this statement is that the weaker person just consoles his mind by saying/believing that the wrong doers will be punished in next birth or may be later on in his life.
The weaker does not want to accept that he is WEAK :( In reality it just means that the weaker person has lost the battle with the mightier person. I am not sure why humans mind always need a fancy concept to console his mind !! :)

Once in a while, everyone needs some consolation. If religion can give them that, why not.
To me, the real question is, 'is the battle worth fighting?'. If it is, then forget about karma and keep fighting. If its not, then give up. It doesn't really matter whether they end up getting what they deserve. All that matters is our own life.. :)
