Kabali review - Good to watch !!!

I usually never write film reviews. But after seeing lot of negative online reviews about Kabali movie, I thought of writing this review.

First of all this film is very good. It takes Rajini to next level, in a foreign setup as Malaysian Don.
The movie mainly captures the emotions of a Don, who is back from jail after 25 years.

I would say this movie is 60% about the emotional track and 40% about fight/punch-scenes with the enemies.
What Tamil audience expected is 90% punch-scenes and 10% of emotion. That is reason for the bad experience among Tamil movie goers.

I saw few online reviews (websites and also in youtube). The complaints are usually
1. Movie is dragging in second half.
2. The story is not good.
3. Rajni is searching his family for half of the movie.
4. Villain is not good. Does not look like villain.
5. Often the movie goes to flashback.
6. Music is not good. Only 'Neruppuda' theme is going all over.

But after watching the movie, I can say that they are all not true. Songs are not full-stretched and they are going along the movie. 'Nerupu da' , 'Nenjamellam' , 'Veera thurandara' all songs go along the story and does not creates boredom.

Of course Rajni searches his family. After all that is the main story. How come anyone complaint that he is searching his family for half of the movie. That is like saying the fish searches all along the movie in 'Finding nemo'.

I do not think Villain is dummy. There are four villains whom Rajni kills as a revenge for his family and his gang.
What more can we expect. The villain makes sarcastic comments often. But does not shout or too loud like 'Nilambari'. May be people are expecting someone like 'Nilambari'.

Regarding the flash backs, the movie does go back then and there to fill the gap in our understanding. That does not do any harm in my view. Also that way the story unfolds slowly and looks good.

Cons in my view:
The way the 'supposed' surprise of Rajni's daughter unfolding is 'not really surprising' or creating any goose bumps. That could have been handled better. Rajni being shot (5 bullets in the body) just before interval and then after interval he sits with some bandages and says he is back without any justification.
